Important News from Walsh’s Pharmacy re: COVID-19
March 18, 2020
Information about COVID-19 (Corona Virus) and recommendations from Health and Government Officials continue to evolve as this virus spreads. Walsh’s Pharmacy will remain open to our customers and patients and be a source of information as it becomes available, while continuing to look after your medications as well as other health care needs. In order to achieve this, though, and get us through this very trying, and unprecedented time, we need your help as well…we are in this together.
This is what Walsh’s Pharmacy is doing:
Visiting the Pharmacy-Limiting Exposure
As an essential service during this very difficult time, we want to do everything in our power to limit the risk to our customers, our patients, and our employees, while visiting our pharmacies in Arthur/Mount Forest. We encourage all visitors to our stores, who exhibit any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 [Fever; Dry Cough; or have had prior exposure to someone who has recently travelled abroad], to please refrain from visiting the pharmacy-for your sake, and for others. Please utilize the services we have available in the pharmacy, such as: Calling in your prescriptions by telephone; using our Diem phone app by smart phone; or having a neighbor, family member, or friend, not affected by the virus to do your shopping.
We urge you to practice good personal hygiene as is applies to hand washing; using hand sanitizers, practicing social distancing, and as necessary, self-isolation/quarantine. The more we can do to slow this virus down, the easier it will be to manage and avoid overwhelming health care workers, including those also on the front lines in pharmacies.
Delivery Protocols
Our delivery service will continue to operate during the days, and weeks, to come. If you are in self-isolation, or under quarantine, we will use a ‘No-Contact’ delivery protocol. If this applies to you, please notify us in advance and when placing your order, so that we can keep our delivery personnel aware, and safe. All other deliveries will have limited contact, and you will be notified in advance of a scheduled delivery time, so that we can ensure you will be home to receive your delivery. We will also be implementing a new service where you can call us with a list of items needed, to have them ready for in-store pick up, or delivery. This new service features a personal shopper who will fill your order-there is no charge for this service. Delivery of prescriptions will remain free of charge; non-prescriptions deliveries will continue to be provided at minimal charge.
Employee Protocols
We are following Government of Canada, Health Canada, Public Health Agency Canada, and Ontario Ministry of Health direction related to travel advisory recommendations, and isolation protocols. We have increased our cleaning and hygiene protocols to ensure that customers, and employees, have a sense of safety while in our stores.
These are trying times, understandably filled with concern and anxiety, but are committed to keeping you up-to-date on developments and with the information you need, as it is available. We are all encouraged to best practices as it pertains to washing our hands with soap and water, using hand sanitizer, coughing into our elbow, and practicing social distancing as appropriate. We are a family owned community business, dedicated to keeping all our families safe and healthy.
Remember, we are all in this together, and together, we will get through this trying time.
